(UCS Saccco) has awarded three members for bringing more clients to the company.
The three are Agnes Kuyokwa from Karonga, Dennis Magalasi from Neno and Esther Nyerere from Mangochi.
Speaking on Friday in Lilongwe during the awarding ceremony, UCS Saccco Branch Networks Manager Vitima Chunga said Malawians need to be educated on Savings and credit to increase the growth rate of Sacco membership in the country.
She said Civil Servants Sacco has made a great milestone in areas such as improved access to credit, discipline in savings, welfare fund and financial wellness of its members.
“The awarding ceremony is a way of motivating the members to bring more members,’ Chunga said.
She said the sacco has grown as in 2024 it reported a stunning K12 billion profit and the cooperative’s loan portfolio expanded to K36 billion
She said by 2026 the company bids to expand its reach and influence by growing its membership from 82,000 to 130,000.
“If we grow the membership to that number, we will also elevate our financial standing to around K70 billion,” Chunga said
Kuyokwa was the overall awardee and is a civil servant from Karonga district. She brought 32 members to the sacco.
She received a Samsung 32 inch Tv and other assorted items
“To be recognised by the company which has over 82 000 members is a great motivation,” Kuyokwa said
