The Lake Conference by the Bankers Association of Malawi has earned a donation of K1 million from the CDH Investment Bank.
The conference is due from 22nd to 24th August 2024 at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi under the theme “Bridging the gap: Inclusive banking and sustainable development for all”.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Jamal Kamoto, Chief Business Development Officer said the bank is highly have decided to sponsor the conference as part of appreciating the advocacy role that BAM plays in uniting and guiding commercial banks in the country.
According to Kamoto, it is no doubt that the conference and its theme are significant as they provides a forum for stakeholders to discuss and brainstorm action plans on how to improve our nation, on top of what is already being done, in terms of the country’s economic revitalization.
“The banking sector, plays a critical role in sustainable development. We are confident that the deliberations at the conference will help participants to brainstorm on how we can support sustainable development initiatives, on top of what is already being done to support financial inclusion and sustainable development initiatives.”
Meanwhile, Lyness Nkungula, Chief Executive Officer for Bankers Association of Malawi, expressed gratitude to CDH Investment Bank for the support, which she said was a timely boost ahead of the annual conference and testament of the banks unwavering commitment to BAM.
