Airtel, Centenary Bank make fees payment easy

Airtel Malawi has partnered with Centenary Bank to launch Cente Fees, a mobile money service designed to simplify school fees payment for schools that bank with Centenary.

Unveiled today in Lilongwe, the initiative allows parents and guardians to pay school fees directly from their phones using Airtel Money or Centenary Bank digital platforms.

Officials make the announcement.

According to Thokozani Kamkondo Sande Airtel Money Managing Director the service aims to cut travel time, reduce transport costs, and lower the risks associated with carrying cash.

Speaking at the launch, Sande said the initiative responds to concerns from parents who often travel long distances to settle school fees.

Centenary Bank Managing Director Godfrey Byekwaso described the move as a step toward transforming access to financial services in Malawi and offers a seamless experience, backed by the wide agent network.

The two companies also introduced Cente Value, a feature that allows mobile money agents to access funds from Centenary Bank to Airtel Money and vice versa.
