Zambia-based Flames forward Chifundo Mphasi has been linked with a move to that countyr’s MTN Super League giants Power Dynamos.
This follows the expiry of his loan deal at Kabwe Warriors at the end of 2023-2024 season in which he helped the club finish on position six.
Mphasi has returned to his club Shamuel Academy and Power Dynamos, who were runners-up in the just-ended season, top the list of clubs bent on signing him on a permanent deal, according to Zambia online media Zamfoot.
“After completing the signing of Prince Mumba, Power Dynamos are now targeting Chifundo Mphasi,” the online publication reported yesterday.
Meanwhile, the player confirmed several interests from Zambian clubs after his loan deal expiry, but avoided confirming Dynamos as the team he will sign for.
Flames coach Patrick Mabedi handed Mphasi his debut in June 2023 against Mozambique alongside Chikumbutso Salima, Robert Saizi, Lloyd Aaron, Innocent Nyasulu and Patrick Macheso.
He has so far two goals, scored against Liberia and Sao Tome & Principe in 2026 Fifa World Cup CAF Qualifiers, making him the Flames top scorer in the competition.
Apart from Mphasi, Zanaco’s Chawanangwa Kaonga and Saizi also ply their trade in Zambia’s MTN Super League.
Football analyst Charles Nyirenda said Mphasi has a better chance of clinching the deal following his exploits at Kabwe Warriors as well as with the Flames.
“This boy is going places,” he said.
