The 2025 Sanlam Summer School for Financial Journalists scholarship has gone to the Malawi Institute of Journalism.
In particular; Nico Group, sponsors of the scholarship, has awarded the prestigious fellowship to business and finance journalist, Georgia Mbaghugho Chirombo.
The Sanlam Summer School for Financial Journalists is an annual scholarship awarded by NICO group to outstanding business journalists to horn their skills in business and finance reporting.
Addressing the media upon unveiling the awardee, Laureen Mlenga, head of marketing and customer experience for NICO Group observed well-equipped journalists were a catalyst for national development.
She said effective reporting was crucial as helps in shaping a conducive environment for business and financial growth.
Meanwhile, Georgia Mbaghugho Chirombo, winner of this year’s Sanlam Fellowship award, expressed her excitement at the opportunity of being trained by experts in financial reporting.
