
The Higher Education Students’ Loans and Grants Board (HESLGB) has announced that they are expecting 33 thousands needy students to be assisted in the 2025/2026 cycle.
The application window will run from April 1, 2025 to May 30, 2025 and their current budget is 36 billion kwacha.
Speaking to MIJ Online Dr. Henry Chingaipe Spokesperson for the Loans and Grants Board, said that loans will only be awarded to eligible students who apply.
Chingaipe stressed that all needy and deserving students are encouraged to apply within the specified period provided they meet the necessary requirements.
According to Chingaipe, to be eligible, applicants must provide proof of neediness and selection to pursue or be pursuing accredited generic degree programs at an accredited higher education institution.
He also indicated that applicants from private higher education institutions must have at least six credits on their Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or an equivalent qualification.
