The Malawi Human Rights Commission has asked the Malawi Police Service to investigate cases relating to electoral violence.

This is contained in a statement which has condemned a spat of electoral violence ahead of the 2025 elections.
The statement signed by Chikondi Chijozi chairperson for the commission has faulted the vandalism of vehicles belonging to opposition MPs Grace Kwelepeta and Lonnie Chijere Chirwa at parliament premises.
Other incidents include; sexual harassment of female MCP supporters, and also cyberbullying targeting a councilor with dwarfism.
Meanwhile, the commission has warned that such acts violate the country’s laws, hence calling upon political parties to discipline members inciting violence.
