
Standards regulator- MBS has closed its Liwonde office, effective April 1, 2025.
This is contained in a statement the bureau has released, which has indicated that all operations will be transferred to its headquarters in Blantyre.
The MBS cited the system’s ability to handle declarations electronically from Blantyre as a primary reason for the closure.
According to the bureau the move aims to streamline operations while maintaining the organization’s mandate to ensure the quality and safety of goods entering the country.
Meanwhile, MBS is urging its stakeholders, to report any issues related to product quality and standards to its Blantyre office.
