MBS stops Liwonde operations

‎Standards regulator- MBS has closed its Liwonde office, effective April 1, 2025.

‎This is contained in a statement the bureau has released, which has indicated that all operations will be transferred to its headquarters in Blantyre.

‎The MBS cited the system’s ability to handle declarations electronically from Blantyre as a primary reason for the closure.

‎According to the bureau the move aims to streamline operations while maintaining the organization’s mandate to ensure the quality and safety of goods entering the country.

‎Meanwhile, MBS is urging its stakeholders, to report any issues related to product quality and standards to its Blantyre office.
