
The anti-corruption bureau says Jappie Mhango, Vice President for the opposition Democratic Progressive Party in the northern region will appear before the court once the bureau completes its paperwork in relation to allegations against him.
Mhango has been arrested over his alleged involvement in undervaluing and selling of government houses at a cheaper price the time he was minister of public works between 2016 and 2017.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Egritta Ndala, spokesperson for the ACB says Mhango faces charges of providing false information to the bureau.
She said when in 2022 when quizzed about ownership of the house his second wife was residing in, Mhango said he did not know the owner when the house actually belonged to his relative Cuthbert Mhango.
