Mtumbuka sets tone for UTM Presidency

Mtumbuka sets tone for UTM Presidency

Former business executive Dr. Mathews Mtumbuka has officially declared his candidacy for the UTM presidency at the upcoming convention in November.

As a close ally of the late founding leader, Saulosi Chilima, Mtumbuka’s decision was expected, yet still sent a wave of excitement through the party.

Mtumbuka: I will deliver.

Addressing the press in Lilongwe, Mtumbuka stressed his commitment to building on Chilima’s legacy of transforming the country’s economy.

Mtumbuka highlighted his focus on empowering the youth by reducing unemployment rates and driving economic growth.

Outlining his vision, Mtumbuka presented a three-pillar approach: Plan, Execute, and Deliver.

He emphasized the need for a clear plan, effective execution, and tangible results.

“I ask for your vote, dear delegates, so that together, we can build a better future for our country,” he urged.

Mtumbuka faces stiff competition from seasoned politicians like Dalitso Kabambe, the former Reserve Bank Governor, and Newton Kambala, the former Minister of Energy.

However, his fresh perspective and business acumen are expected to resonate with delegates seeking a new direction for the party.
