A search mission is underway for the plane that carried Vice President Saulos Chilima, hours after it came off the radar.
The plane departed from Lilongwe at 09:17 hours on Monday, June 10, 2024, but failed to land at Mzuzu International Airport as scheduled at 10:02 hours.
Aviation authorities have been unable to establish contact with the aircraft since it disappeared from radar.
In response, President Lazarus Chakwera has canceled his trip to the Bahamas and ordered a search and rescue operation to locate the missing plane.
