Operations at Chimbota Secondary School in Nkhatabay are now into full swing, following the settling of unrests to do with land ownership.
The school, run by Chimbota Community Development Organization has meanwhile students about 70, a development authorities there say is a milestone towards enhancing quality education.
The facility was barred from operating earlier on over a row to do with land ownership.
Meanwhile, Director Kevin Troughton has said the school is now operating with stringent motive of ensuring provision of quality education thereby contributing to the economy and the development of the area.
‘’ We are announcing that all issues have been resolved and therefore the school is up and running. We opened at the start of the school calendar this month. You know that we have a very modern school with quality teachers and therefore people must register with us because even our fees are affordable from just MK50, 000. Over the years, we are impressed that most of our students have made it into tertiary level offered by public and private universities,’’ he said.
According to Troughton, the school does not relent at all in offering a conducive learning environment, boasting well-qualified and experienced teachers, a well-furnished library with extensive resources, and a fully-equipped science laboratory.
He said over time, the organization has also so many incentives to address issues of drop out with most youths in Nkhatabay drawn into fishing as income without even any basic education.
