TNM Super League champions Silver Strikers and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will clash in the 2025 TNM Super League opener at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on April 5, Super League of Malawi (Sulom) announced in a statement Wednesday.
This comes a week after Sulom released the draft fixture for the TNM Super League season at its annual general meeting (AGM) in Lilongwe.
The two teams also met during the opening match of the 2023 TNM Super League, which ended 1-1.
Ironically, they met at the same venue.
Last year, the official opening match of the league was between Bullets and Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium.
“In preparing for the new season, we request all teams [to] provide [a] duly approved home, away and alternative team colours. All teams must provide alternative match venues,” the statement reads.
Sulom has also asked clubs to expedite the registration of players before March 28.
“Clubs are further advised to ensure all players are registered, transfers are completed and their registration fees [are paid] by March 28, 2025,” the statement reads.
This means Silver will face Bullets and last season’s runners-up Mighty Wanderers within seven days.

The Bankers and Wanderers will meet in the 2025 Fam Charity Shield match at the same venue.
However, Silver Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Patrick Chimimba questioned Sulom’s decision to stage the match at a neutral venue.
“Our primary venue is Silver Stadium and we expect to play our matches at home.
“We hope Sulom will provide us with answers on the choice of Bingu Stadium,” Chimimba said.
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) is yet to release approved match venues for elite competitions in the 2025 season.
Bullets CEO Albert Chigoga confirmed receipt of the communication from Sulom.
“We will check with the coach what he thinks about meeting the champions in the opening week of the season,” Chigoga said.
During the AGM, Sulom indicated that it would maintain the league calendar—which spans from April to December.
On its part, Fam announced that the league would be concluded in February next year.
Silver won their first league title in 11 years, ending Bullets’ five-year dominance.
